York Hill Endodontics was founded in 1965 by Dr. Jerry Smith. In 1981, George Sas joined him in the practice and it is now the longest established endodontic specialty practice in Canada.

After graduating from dental school, Dr. Sas attended the Forsyth Institute (affiliated with Harvard School of Dental Medicine) in Boston where he completed a general residency program. In 1981, he completed his post graduate training in endodontology under Dr. Samuel Seltzer at Temple University in Philadelphia.

Dr. Sas has lectured in both South and North America and is fluent in Spanish. For more than ten years he was a clinical instructor at the University of Toronto’s Faculty of Dentistry. He has practiced for over 30 years and maintains a private practice in endodontics with his son, Geoffrey, a board certified endodontist.

Dr. Sas is an active member in good standing of the American Association of Endodontists, the Ontario Society of Endodontists as well as both the Ontario Dental Association and Canadian Dental Associations.

Dr. Sas lives in Toronto with his wife, Lesley. They have four children. In his spare time Dr. Sas is an avid tennis player and is an active member of York Racquets Club in Toronto. In 2017 George and his son, Dr. Geoffrey Sas teamed up to win the York Racquets doubles tournament
